2026 Spring Co-Champions – MAROONED and GOLD RUSH

The ninth season of the Saint John Touch Rugby League Championship was decided in a Best-of-Three series. After finishing first in the regular season, Gold Rush entered the championship with a 1–0 series advantage.

Game 2 was a closely fought contest, with Marooned edging Gold Rush 4–3 to level the series at one game each and set up a winner-take-all Game 3. Owen Fowler and Gailan Claveau each scored two tries for Marooned, while Devan Walton crossed the line twice and Lori Soucy added a single try for Gold Rush.

In the decisive third game, Marooned earned a 5–2 victory over Gold Rush to claim the championship series. Gailan Claveau led the attack with two tries, while Owen Fowler, Erin Nobles Crook, and Michael Cooke each contributed one. Claire Hague scored both tries for Gold Rush.

Gold Rush’s performance was especially commendable, as the team was forced to compete with only four players due to illness, injuries, and other absences. In a tremendous show of sportsmanship, Marooned acknowledged Gold Rush’s determination and outstanding effort under challenging circumstances and proposed that the championship be shared.

Congratulations to the 2026 Saint John Touch Rugby League Spring Season Co-Champions — MAROONED and GOLD RUSH!
