Hope you like our new fresh redesigned Saint John Co-Ed Touch Rugby League (SJTRL) Website!  This is the first redesign since the inaugural season back in 2016.  After 3 seasons, it was time for a change.

We got a new domain name to align with all our League:  sjtrl.com and we still have the other name that will redirect:  saintjohntouchrugby.com

The ‘old’ website will still be around for a little while but asking everyone to go to the new one at sjtrl.com

Here are some of the new features:

• Mobile Phone “Friendly” or we should say it’s better than the old site
• Organized Information via Pages!??!  Yes, Pages!!!  League Info, FAQs, How to Play Touch Rugby?…etc…
• Player Profiles w/Pictures and Seasons – The Default Pic is the League Logo
• Team Pages – Shows Info, Logo (if available), Roster, Schedule, Standings highlighted for the team

In closing, the new website is a lot easier from an Administration point of view (Adding News, Updating Scores, etc…)

Now for the upcoming 2019 Season!!!

The Executive met tonight and we have lots of plans for 2019.

Here are some highlights:

• League Min. Age for Players is now 18+
• Team Roster Sizes are increasing from 10 to 12.  This allows the League to have up 48 Players (an increase of 20%)
• Spring Season (End of April/Early May until Mid June) – 12 reg. season games and then Playoffs/Championship (7 Weeks in Total)
• East Coast Games (4 Team Tournament) on Saturday June 22nd @ Canada Games Stadium
• Planning for…drum roll… a Winter League @ the Fieldhouse indoor Turf Fields!!!  The Fieldhouse is scheduled to open for Sept. 2019.

So, we still have lots of planning and confirming dates/times and etc… but we will keep you posted!  Stay tuned!!!

Throwback Thursday…Back on Friday April 29th, 2016… the first ever Co-Ed Touch Rugby League in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada kicked off the inaugural season!

Wed June 13th, 2018 – Canada Games Stadium – Congrats to the 2018 Saint John Co-Ed Touch Rugby Champions – ALPINES.

The Alpines defeated Hop City 4-3 to win the 2018 Saint John Co-Ed Touch Rugby League championship. Trevor Seely scored two tries for the Alpines while Peter Fitzgerald and Andrew Feetham each had a single try. Mike Curwin scored twice while Jules Ouimet scored one try for Hop City.
