2023 Spring Champs – NAVY BEANS

2023 Saint John Touch Rugby League Champions – NAVY BEANS

The sixth season of the Saint John Touch Rugby League Championship was a Best out of Three contest.  The Orange Octopi had a 1 game lead going into the Championship for finishing 1st Place in the regular season.

Game 2 of the Best of Three was a very close game and the Navy Beans took the win 4-3.  This now tied the Best of Three series at 1 game a piece which means Game 3 will determine the winner of the Championship series.  Scoring for Navy Beans were three tries by Mathieu Doucet with a single try by Lauren Carlisle.  Andrew Feetham had two tries and Lori Soucy had a single try for the Orange Octopi.

Now for the Game 3 winner takes all match, the Navy Beans took a 4-0 victory over the Orange Octopi to claim the Championship.  Mathieu Doucet scored two tries while single tries were scored by Josh Wells (SUB) and Lauren Carlisle.

Congrats to the 2023 Spring Season Champions – NAVY BEANS.

2022 “Potential” Winter Season at the Irving Oil Field House – Survey

Exciting News – We are looking at a ‘potential’ six week Winter season (Feb-Mar) at the Irving Oil Field House on Friday Nights.

Due to limited field availability, Friday Nights 8-9pm for four weeks while the last two weeks will be at 9-10pm.

It will be 5 v 5 format and will consist of four Co-Ed teams of 10 players per team. Which means the League can have only 40 players max.

If this is something you are interested in, please take the time to fill in the survey. So that we can gauge the interest before booking the field and opening up registration.

Thanks for your time!

2022 Spring Champs – GREEN GIANTS

2022 Saint John Touch Rugby League Champions – GREEN GIANTS

The fifth anniversary season of the Saint John Touch Rugby League concluded with a last second try by the Green Giants to take a 5-4 victory over the Pink Banters. The Pink Banters just scored to tie the game at 4 apiece and then off the tap restart with support the Green Giants scored. Congrats to the 2022 Spring Season Champions – GREEN GIANTS.  David Darrah scored three tries while setting up the last second try to Luke Johnson after the tap restart. Chris Barry also had a single try for the Green Giants. For the Pink Banters, single tries were scored by Claire Hague, Dave MacGowan, Chad Sooley and Jules Ouimet.

2022 Spring Season Playoffs & Championship (Thurs June 16th)

For the first time ever, we had to apply the Tie-Breaker rules between the tied 1st place Green Giants and Turf Burn. Based on the games between the two teams, Rule 1 – The Most Points (Pts) were tied as each team were 2-2. Now to Rule 2 – using the best net from the tries scored (TF) minus tries allowed (TA) which goes to the Green Giants with a +3 (14-11). So, 1st Place is Green Giants and 2nd Place is Turf Burn.
.
The Playoffs and Championships are on Thursday June 16th. Which team is going to claim the 2022 Spring Championship Trophy???
